The IFRS Foundation's Capital Markets Advisory Committee (CMAC) has appointed three new members: Deborah Taylor, Jungyeon (Jay) Seo and Xiaolu Wang.

The CMAC is an independent advisory body established to provide the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) with regular input from an international community of users of financial statements.

Ms Deborah Taylor is a professional trainer at Financial Edge, where she has spent the past seven years delivering accounting, modelling and valuation training to investment banks, asset managers and private equity firms. Prior to this, she was a director at Barclays Equity Research for seven years in a top-ranked accounting and valuation team. Her research was focused on thematic and forensic accounting issues, corporate taxation and regulatory changes.

Ms Taylor is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, having qualified at Deloitte in 2004. She graduated from the Queen's College, Oxford University with a Master's degree in Physics. She is also co-author of Financial Statement Analysis under IFRS (2018) and Company Valuation under IFRS (2020).

Dr Jungyeon (Jay) Seo is the Industry Analysis Team Leader and Chief Analyst at Shinyoung Securities in Seoul, South Korea. Since joining the firm in 2006, she has developed deep expertise in the consumer and internet sectors. Over her career, she has produced more than 2,000 analyses and has been widely recognised in several top-analyst rankings from leading Korean newspapers and Thomson Reuters.

Dr Seo serves as a member of the Advisory Committee of both the Korea Accounting Standards Board (KASB) and the Korea Sustainability Standards Board (KSSB), contributing practitioner insights to financial reporting and sustainability standard-setting. She also lectures in accounting at Seoul National University.

She holds a PhD in accounting from Sungkyunkwan University, a Master’s degree in Accounting from Seoul National University and dual bachelor’s degrees in Social Studies Education and Business Administration from the same institution. Her research interests include analysts’ earnings models, accounting-based valuation and financial disclosure.

Ms Xiaolu Wang is the head of Due Diligence and Portfolio Management at Efund PE, the private equity arm of China’s biggest mutual fund. She works closely with investment institutions in the mergers and acquisitions process and with more than 80 portfolio companies spanning varying life stages.

Prior to joining Efund, she was part of the Transaction Services team at PricewaterhouseCoopers Hong Kong, managing the financial due diligence work stream in regional and cross-border mergers and acquisitions deals. Ms Wang holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Hong Kong and qualified as a Certified Public Accountant in Hong Kong SAR (HKICPA).

All three appointments are for a term time of three years (renewable once), effective immediately.

Thank you to Anthony Scilipoti, Joao Toniato and Koei Otaki who all stepped down as CMAC members at the end of 2025.
