The IFRS Foundation Trustees today announced the reappointment of Richard Barker and Ndidi Nnoli-Edozien to serve second terms as members of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB).
The Trustees are responsible for the governance of the Foundation and oversight of its two standard-setting boards, including the appointment of members to the boards. The reappointments have followed a thorough process overseen by the Trustees’ Nominating Committee to ensure the ISSB has the skills, experience and balance required to deliver on its mission.
Professor Barker has been reappointed for a three-year term and will transition from a full-time role to serving on the ISSB 80% of his time. Dr Nnoli-Edozien has been reappointed for a four-year term.
Bing Leng is stepping down from the ISSB. The Trustees’ Nominating Committee has started the search for his successor. Mr Leng will continue to serve as a board member for a transition period.
Erkki Liikanen, Chair of the Trustees, said:
I congratulate Richard and Ndidi on their reappointments and look forward to their continued contribution as the ISSB continues to develop its global baseline of sustainability disclosures and supports the adoption and implementation of its Standards around the world. On behalf of the Trustees, I thank Bing for his commitment and valuable contribution to the ISSB during the board’s critical first five years.
