About the Role

Reports to: Financial Controller
Works with: Finance team and contributed revenue team

Job purpose
This newly created position will provide support to the Financial Controller and overseeing revenue-related tasks encompassing processes, financial reporting, and analysis. 

Principle Accountabilities

Key tasks include:

  • Assist the Royalties Coordinator & Revenue Manager by providing support and back-up as required. 
  • Monitor bank accounts daily for all revenue received.  
  • Oversea the credit control process.  
  • Perform monthly reconciliations between Salesforce and Business Central systems to ensure precise and accurate record-keeping. 
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the Financial Controller and the wider team as required. 
  • Manage the revenue email inbox efficiently to address queries and manage communications promptly. 
  • Financial reporting and analysis: 
    • Monthly forecasting of the revenue streams, facilitating proactive financial planning. 
    • Monthly budget vs actual analysis.
    • Monthly accrual posting. 
    • Support the development and maintenance of comprehensive revenue reporting frameworks. 
    • Support the timely preparation of revenue reports.
    • Collaborate closely with fundraising teams for accurate internal tracking and reporting of revenue streams. 
    • Support fundraising teams in fulfilling grant reporting obligations. 
    • Quarterly balance sheet reconciliation. 
    • Assist with the annual budgeting process. 
    • Assist with the year-end audit. 
    • Support in meeting US reporting requirements, such as form 990. 
    • Ad-hoc reporting requirements.

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA newly qualified accountant. 
  • Understanding of revenue recognition principles, accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS), and financial reporting. 
  • Excellent numerical skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Proficiency in using Excel at intermediate or above level. 
  • Previous experience of working in multiple currencies. 
  • Strong organisation skills, including ability to prioritise own workload under pressure to meet tight deadlines. 
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills/flexible 'can do' approach. 

Preferred:

  • Experience working in an international environment. 
  • Experience working with Business Central and Salesforce.
