About the role

The role of the Global Compensation & Benefits Manager is to take the lead on the development, implementation and communication of our global approach to compensation and benefits across the Foundation. This role is based in Frankfurt but will serve our global hubs working closely with other HR & People colleagues around the world to deliver key projects. This position will develop the overall strategy, design and implementation of the compensation programs on a global basis. This will also include identifying best practices, recommending changes and coordinating the design of the company’s compensation philosophy and plans.

The following responsibilities will be carried out by individual actions and through collective team efforts.

Key responsibilities

  • Proactively review, build HR compensation and benchmarking administration business processes and policies. Partner with key stakeholders to manage the compensation for all employees and new hires across the Foundation.
  • Provide guidance and advice on reward packages, tools, platforms and frameworks.
  • Responsible for drafting/designing comp philosophy and specific comp programs in conjunction with management requirements.
  • Lead and continuously improve the global annual salary and bonus cycle alongside our global HR, Finance and Operations Leadership teams.
  • Be responsible for our approach to developing robust people, market and sector reward insights including the administration of the annual pay reward planning processes.
  • Assist in the administration of various employee incentive programs including the calculation and audit of the payouts.
  • Analyse market pay ranges for new and existing jobs and formulate recommendations to management and/or HR Business Partners – includes assistance with benchmarking tools and requests.
  • Provides consultation and training to HR Business Partners and Recruitment team regarding compensation policies, practices and guidelines.
  • Support the Chief People Officer in the development of remuneration reports, drafting of papers for senior leadership and Committee meetings.
  • Monitors local pay issues and maintains appropriate geographic differentials.
  • Evaluate and update the market reference ranges.
  • Participates in compensation surveys by liaising with others and providing company data for survey submissions. Researches, evaluates and recommends survey sources.
  • Helps ensure and maintain compliance with all our jurisdiction’s pay regulations.
  • Assists with audits and information requests needs and is updated to reflect changes in job titles, salary grades, salaries, job codes, bonus plans, etc.
  • Assists with payroll processes and procedures as needed.

Skills, experience & qualifications sought

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Compensation & Benefits or equivalent experience.
  • Significant years of experience in global compensation within a matrix environment (specifically with Canada, US, Germany and UK knowledge).
  • Senior-level reward experience, including managing key processes and relationships.
  • Ability to lead and manage resources to achieve goals, in a dynamic matrix, environment with competing and evolving priorities.
  • Strong experience with managing a global approach to job catalogues, job levels and governance.
  • Experience with designing, implementing and communicating a holistic approach to Total Rewards and Recognition across a global organisation in collaboration with internal and external professionals.
  • Report writing and analysis of diverse scope data and presentation for business decisions
  • Excellent communication, presentation and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated collaboration, team player and problem-solving abilities.
