In this episode of our monthly IASB podcast, Hans Hoogervorst and Sue Lloyd, Chair and Vice-Chair of the International Accounting Standards Board, focus on the Board’s discussions around the effects of covid-19 on our stakeholders and our work plan at a supplementary meeting held remotely on Friday 17 April 2020.
They look at two specific areas: changes in the work plan timeline and a proposed amendment to IFRS 16 Leases that aim to help companies with covid-19-related rent concessions.
Next, they turn their attention to discussions held at the regular Board meeting on 21, 22 and 23 April 2020. They look at developments in the following projects:
- Amendments to IFRS 17 Insurance Contracts;
- Post-implementation Reviews of IFRS 10, IFRS 11 and IFRS 12;
- Management Commentary; and
- Maintenance and consistent application.
