The Trustees of the IFRS Foundation are looking to fill a number of vacancies in the IFRS Advisory Council (Council) when the terms of its current members finish on 31 December 2019. Seven of the vacancies are for members who are eligible for reappointment.

The Trustees seek nominations from organisations and individuals with an interest in international financial reporting. The selected candidates will contribute to the Council's diversity and may include representatives from global, regional or local organisations. Whilst all organisations will be considered, the Trustees are particularly seeking interest from corporate governance organisations, private equity firms, organisations involved in wider corporate reporting, technology organisations and organisations representing Small and Medium-sized Entities.

It is expected that the nominated individual will be a senior person in the organisation, with skills and experience to advise on strategy and help shape the future of financial reporting. While financial reporting knowledge is needed, we are not necessarily seeking candidates who are accountants. The Trustees will also consider applications from individuals.

The Advisory Council normally meets twice a year for a period of two days, in London. Meetings are open to the public. Individuals appointed to the Advisory Council will be expected to participate actively in all of the meetings. Members of the Advisory Council serve on a voluntary, unpaid basis and are required to pay their own expenses. Full membership criteria are set out on the IFRS Foundation’s website. Please consult the criteria when considering nominations.
