The speaker line-up for the IFRS Foundation international conference in Frankfurt (2829 June) has now been confirmed.

More than half of the International Accounting Standards Board (Board) members, including its Chair, Hans Hoogervorst and Vice-Chair, Sue Lloyd, will be joined by global leaders in financial reporting from EY, Deutsche Bank, KMPG, Roche, Orange, PwC, SAP, as well as by regulators ESMA and BaFin. Together with the Foundation’s technical staff, these global leaders will participate in discussions on major research and current standard-setting projects on the Board’s agenda as well as on the future of financial reporting.

Several break-out sessions will enable participants to engage on particular topics of interest, such as: IFRS 16 Leases, IFRS 17 Insurance Contracts and the Conceptual Framework for Financial Reporting, as well as the Board’s implementation support. The break-out sessions will also feature discussions of the Board’s latest projects, including Financial Instruments with the Characteristics of Equity and Primary Financial Statements.

Board members will chair two panel discussions. One will focus on current issues in the application of IFRS Standards. The panelists will particularly focus in on topics of interest to regulators. The second panel is on judgements and estimates, which are at the heart of the principle-based Standards.

We still have places available for people who want to attend the conference; it is a great opportunity to network with a diverse range of people interested in IFRS Standards, and also speak with the people who set them.

See the conference programme for more information.
