Robert Pozen

Biography

Robert Pozen is a financial executive with a strong interest in public policy who has been active in business, government and academia over a successful career.

Robert chairs the Leadership Council of the Tax Policy Center, chairs the board of Agility, and serves on the board of the AMC (part of the World Bank). He was formerly an independent director of Medtronic, Nielsen and Bell Canada. 

He’s a former Executive Chairman of MFS Investment Management and Vice Chairman of Fidelity Investments and president of Fidelity Management & Research Company. He also served in senior positions at the SEC and the Massachusetts government.

Robert is a prolific author and, in 2012, he won acclaim for a popular book entitled Extreme Productivity: Boost Your Results, Reduce Your Hours.

Robert is currently a senior lecturer at MIT Sloan School of Management and a non-resident senior fellow at the Brookings Institution.

Robert graduated summa cum laude from Harvard College and holds a law degree from Yale Law School, which awarded him a doctorate for a book on state enterprises in Africa. 

Robert joined the IFRS Foundation Trustees in January 2021.
