Andre Besson

Biography

Andre Besson is currently Head of Financial Reporting Guidelines at Nestlé SA in Switzerland, a post he has held since 2012. He is responsible for the application of IFRS Standards in the group accounts, and oversaw Nestlé’s implementation of IFRS 15, IFRS 16 and IFRS 9.

He joined the global food company in 1994 after graduating from the University of the West Indies, and subsequently held several roles in Trinidad, Switzerland and the USA, including factory controller, country controller, and head of financial reporting and accounting operations.

Andre is also co-chair of SwissHoldings’ Accounting and Reporting Working Group and a member of BusinessEurope’s Accounting Harmonisation Working Group and Sounding Board, which focus on analysing how potential changes in IFRS Standards may affect commercial enterprises’ financial reporting.

He joined the IFRS Interpretations Committee in 2021.
