About the role

We are looking for a digital reporting, accounting or sustainability reporting professional to join as an IASB Technical Staff member at the forefront of digital financial reporting and standards development. You will support the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) by contributing to the development of digital reporting frameworks (taxonomies) for IFRS Accounting Standards and IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards.

Principal accountabilities

  • Identifying IFRS accounting and sustainability reporting requirements, arising from new/amended Standards or reporting practice, to develop new digital taxonomy content
  • Researching and analysing reporting requirements and practice
  • Defining data/technical architecture and modelling digital reporting data/taxonomy content
  • Consulting with staff, the IASB and ISSB to ensure digital taxonomy content is consistent with the Standards and its development follows the organisation’s due process
  • Engaging with the IFRS Taxonomy Consultative Group on issues relating to digital taxonomy development
  • Engaging with constituents who are implementing the digital taxonomy (preparers, software vendors, regulators and other taxonomy users) to help ensure consistent and accurate implementation

Strong project management skills:

  • Planning, implementation and overseeing all associated administrative tasks. 
  • Experience in preparing technical board papers with attention to detail. 
  • Ability to review and revise document drafts to ensure accuracy and clarity. 
  • Support in creating and delivering board presentations, ensuring key messages are effectively communicated.

Technical knowledge and thinking abilities:

  • Demonstrable knowledge of digital financial reporting, ideally with previous experience of working with digital financial taxonomies and mapping/tagging financial reports using a digital taxonomy
  • Demonstrable knowledge of—and experience in—applying IFRS Accounting Standards, and/or familiarity with IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, and interest in digital financial reporting
  • Identifies, understands and analyses issues
  • Proposes well-reasoned recommendations and draws out implications, including cost/benefit analysis
  • Displays impartiality, balance and openness in developing, defending and accepting alternative views
