The International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) has today announced the members of its Transition Implementation Group on IFRS S1 and IFRS S2 (TIG).

The ISSB issued IFRS S1 General Requirements for Disclosure of Sustainability-related Financial Information and IFRS S2 Climate-related Disclosureson 26 June 2023. IFRS S1 and IFRS S2 are the first two IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards developed by the ISSB and serve as a comprehensive global baseline of sustainability disclosures for the capital markets.

The TIG has been established to support implementation of IFRS S1 and IFRS S2, with the objective of providing a public forum for any stakeholder to share implementation questions with the ISSB and to follow the discussion of those questions. These discussions will help the ISSB determine what, if any, action will be needed to address the implementation questions. Possible actions include providing supporting materials such as webinars, case studies and other educational material.

The TIG comprises 17 members, of which 13 are preparers and four are assurance providers, and additionally includes official observers. The members have been appointed based on their deep technical expertise in sustainability and/or financial reporting. Membership reflects strong global participation, with representation from the following jurisdictions: Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong SAR, Japan, Malaysia, Nigeria, South Africa, South Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

The TIG will not issue any authoritative guidance, but the IFRS Foundation will publish summaries and recordings from the meetings on those meeting webpages.

The ISSB encourages stakeholders to submit potential implementation questions as soon as possible. For more information please refer to the submission guidelines.
