The IFRS Foundation has announced that Julia Hoggett, CEO of the London Stock Exchange plc, will give the keynote address at this year’s IFRS Foundation Conference in London. Find out more about the conference and how to register to attend in person, or watch online, here.

Ms Hoggett joined the London Stock Exchange plc in 2021 and has had an extensive career in the finance and banking industries. She was previously Director of Market Oversight at the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), overseeing the conduct of market participants. Before that, she was a Managing Director at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, running various fixed income origination businesses in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Ms Hoggett was previously a board member and CEO of DEPFA ACS BANK in Ireland. She began her career at JP Morgan.

Ms Hoggett was included in Financial News’ 100 Most Influential Women in Europe’s Financial Markets between 2010 and 2022, and has been an active speaker on diversity and inclusion in London for two decades.

Ms Hoggett will give her address on the first day of the IFRS Foundation Conference, which will be held on 26–27 June at the Leonardo Royal London Tower Bridge Hotel.

On day two of the conference, a panel discussion will be held on the long-term risks and uncertainties in financial reporting.

The panelists are:

Isabelle Grauer-Gaynor, Head of Corporate Finance and Reporting, ESMA
Ms Grauer-Gaynor joined ESMA (European Securities and Markets Authority) in 2019. She manages investor protection initiatives in the area of corporate finance and reporting, including the preparation of technical standards, guidelines and recommendations, and the development of supervisory convergence. Before that she was a partner in Mazars’ Financial Reporting Technical Services team, contributing to Mazars’ external interactions with national and international accounting organisations. She also held the position of IFRS Technical Director at the French accounting standard-setter, the ANC. In this capacity, she participated in discussions with the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group’s (EFRAG) Financial Reporting Technical Expert Group, which was in charge of assessing and recommending IFRS Standards for endorsement in Europe.

Ms Grauer-Gaynor was appointed as a member of the IFRS Advisory Council in January 2020.

Shinya Iwasaki, Audit Partner, Deloitte Japan
Mr Iwasaki is a Deloitte Audit Partner Financial Reporting Leader and a Partner at its IFRS Centre of Excellence in Japan. He is also part of Deloitte’s Global IFRS Leadership Team. Mr Iwasaki has worked with major Deloitte clients around the world. He has served on numerous committees on international financial reporting standards, including those of the Accounting Standards Board of Japan and the Japanese Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Mr Iwasaki is an author of, and a contributor to, many publications on accounting under international financial reporting standards, US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Japanese GAAP.

Ian Kramer, Senior Vice President: Group Finance, AngloGold Ashanti
Mr Kramer joined AngloGold Ashanti in 2012 as a Vice President: Finance, mainly responsible for external reporting on the Johannesburg and New York stock exchanges. He was promoted to Senior Vice President: Group Finance in 2019, taking responsibility for all financial and management reporting for the group. He has also acted as Interim Chief Financial Officer twice between 2020 and 2022. Prior to joining AngloGold Ashanti, Mr Kramer spent 20 years at KPMG, for some of which he was an External Audit Partner in KPMG’s Energy and Natural Resources Business Unit in South Africa, primarily focusing on the mining industry. As Partner, he was seconded to KPMG Toronto, Canada, in an Advisory Partner capacity. During the latter part of his career at KPMG, he was appointed as the KPMG Head of Mining for Africa.
