Who we are looking for
Reporting to senior technical staff, the successful candidate will join our technical accounting staff. Working on a range of technical accounting projects, they will provide technical administrative support to project teams and to members of the International Accounting Standards Board.
Technical associates are generally appointed for a two-year term, during which they will develop their knowledge of technical accounting issues and of the standard-setting process. After two years, they are expected to move into a role in the accounting profession or in industry.
The role of a technical associate varies according to their project assignments. Responsibilities usually include:
- attending and facilitating meetings with staff, Board members, advisory groups and a range of other external stakeholders;
- assisting with the preparation and production of a range of documents and materials for internal and external use;
- updating and maintaining the relevant project pages on the ifrs.org website;
- undertaking research and analysis on a range of issues, preparing illustrative examples and research summaries, and presenting them to staff, Board members and stakeholders; and
- reviewing and analysing comment letters, academic reports and other materials.

Qualifications and experience
- a university degree, or equivalent-level qualification, in accounting or a related subject is required;
- an understanding of IFRS Standards and their purpose is essential; and
- knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) is required.
