Accessibility guidelines

Our aim

Our website aims to conform to level AA of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.

We seek to make our website accessible and easy to use for everyone.

Maintaining an accessible website is an ongoing process and we are continually working to offer the best experience. If you have any problems using this website please let us know.

Using the keyboard to navigate

If you have restricted mobility, you may wish to use your keyboard instead of your mouse to navigate the website. By using Tab and Enter on your keyboard, it is possible to do this. The Tab key allows you to move and browse amongst the menus and links displayed on each page, and pressing Enter will activate your request for a particular menu or link.

You can skip the primary navigation dropdown links while browsing with your keyboard by pressing Tab and the Left or Right Arrow; navigational elements of the dropdowns are then skipped, allowing you to quickly reach the areas you wish to locate.

The arrow keys on the keyboard will enable you to move up or down the page or from left to right. The arrow keys will also help you navigate dropdown lists.

Changing text size

Please use your browser settings to change text size. These settings will usually be found listed under 'View' or 'Settings' on your browser. Here you will be able to specify text sizes as displayed on your computer screen.

Changing colour scheme

Most browsers will allow you to change colour text options and background colours. These options can usually be found in the 'Settings' options on your browser.

Portable Document Formats (PDFs)

Our website uses PDF (Portable Document Format) documents which are accessed by clicking on appropriate document links. To view a PDF, you may need to download Adobe Reader first. This is a free software package and is available to download from Adobe. PDFs will open in a separate tab on our website.
