Member, SME Implementation group

The Trustees of the International Accounting Standards Committee Foundation (IASC Foundation) are calling for nominations from suitable candidates for membership of the SME Implementation group (SMEIG) by 30 April 2010.

The SMEIG will have at least 12, but not more than 20, members that are appointed by the Trustees’ Nomination Committee. Members of the SMEIG are selected on the basis of their knowledge and experience in financial reporting of SMEs. Knowledge of, and direct experience with, the IFRS for SMEs will be considered an asset.

The group would normally include accountants working in SMEs, auditors in small or medium-sized public practices, and bank lenders and other users of financial statements of SMEs. The Trustees are aiming for a broad geographical representation within the group.

The SMEIG will normally conduct its work via email correspondence, though the Operating Procedures do provide for face-to-face meetings in unusual circumstances.

What next?

If you are interested in serving on the SMEIG or if you wish to nominate a candidate, please send a cover letter and a CV (resume) via mail or email by 30 April 2010 to:
