IASC Foundation publishes IFRS Taxonomy 2009 labels in Japanese

30 March 2010

The International Accounting Standards Committee (IASC) Foundation today published the Japanese translation of the complete label linkbases for the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Taxonomy 2009.

This Japanese translation of the IFRS Taxonomy 2009 is an official IASC Foundation translation and was created using official terminology. This translation marks the successful delivery of all the planned translations of the IFRS Taxonomy 2009 by the IASC Foundation into key languages, which also include Arabic, simplified Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Korean and Spanish.

In order to provide further support to Japanese-speaking users of the IFRS Taxonomy, the following support materials and tools will shortly be available for viewing and use in Japanese:

  • The IFRS Taxonomy Modules Manager - an online tool that guides users through the process of navigating and customising the IFRS modules that make-up the IFRS Taxonomy.
  • The IFRS Taxonomy Illustrated (ITI) - the ITI presents a simplified view of the IFRS Taxonomy in an easy-to-read, visual format that does not require knowledge of XBRL, with linkages to the electronic IFRSs (eIFRS). The ITI has been specially prepared for accountants, auditors and those wanting a comprehensive overview of the structure and content of the IFRS Taxonomy, in order to promote understanding of the Taxonomy and to assist with preparing IFRS financial reports in XBRL format.

The IASC Foundation will commence translations of the IFRS Taxonomy 2010 once the final taxonomy is published.
