Trustees extend comment period for strategy review
26 November 2010
The IFRS Foundation Trustees today extended the deadline for comments on their public consultation paper on the strategy review they are undertaking. The new deadline is 24 February 2011.
The extension responds to requests from stakeholders for more time to consider and respond to the questions raised in the paper. The Trustees still plan to conclude the review at their meeting in London on 30 and 31 March 2011, a target that they believe is necessary to achieve for two reasons. First, the IFRS Foundation Monitoring Board is the process of conducting its governance review, and the Trustees expect that review to be completed before the Trustees' meeting. Second, a number of jurisdictions will be considering the adoption of IFRSs in 2011, and the Trustees wish to have their strategy review completed in advance of those decisions.
The revised strategy review consultation document, reflecting the new comment deadline, is available from the IFRS Foundation/IASB website at http://go.ifrs.org/strategyreview
