The Trustees of the IFRS Foundation meet four times a year in different parts of the world. As part of the programme for meetings, the Trustees host an evening event with senior representatives from the relevant jurisdiction, to exchange views on the work of the IASB and the prospects for global accounting standards.
On 23 January 2013, the Trustees met in Hong Kong and hosted jointly with the Hong Kong Institute of CPAs a panel discussion on the future of financial reporting.
The discussion was moderated by Ms Jennifer Hughes, Asia Editor of Financial Times Lex, and the panel consisted of;
- Hans Hoogervorst, IASB Chairman
- Clement Chan, vice-president of the Hong Kong Institute of CPAs and Managing Director of BDO
- James Riley, group finance director of Jardine Matheson Holdings; and
- Carlson Tong, chairman of the Securities and Futures Commission.
