Investment Entities: Applying the Consolidation Exception (Proposed amendments to IFRS 10 Consolidated Financial Statements and IAS 28 Investments in Associates and Joint Ventures)


The IASB decided to expose together a collection of three proposed amendments to IFRS 10 and IAS 28 in the Exposure Draft Clarifications to the accounting for interests in investment entities and applying the consolidation exemption. These proposed amendments were tentatively approved by the Interpretations Committee at previous meetings. These three issues are:


Standard Project
IAS 28 Application of the equity method by a non-investment entity investor to an investment entity investee
IFRS 10 A subsidiary that provides services that relate to the parent’s investment activities
IFRS 10 The exemption from preparing consolidated financial statements requirements in IFRS 10
