The IASB staff has posted a summary of the discussions by the Expert Advisory Panel (EAP) on the exposure draft (ED) Financial Instruments: Amortised Cost and Impairment.
The EAP was set up shortly after publication of the ED in November 2009. The primary objective of this panel was to explore how operational challenges of the expected cash flow approach (ECF) as proposed in the IASB�s ED might be addressed. The EAP held its final public meeting in June 2010.
The document provides a summary of the operational issues identified by the EAP and possible solutions that were discussed.

Upcoming Board discussions on IAS 39 replacement project
During the July 2010 board meeting, the Board will be discussing the following topics from all three phases of the IAS 39 replacement project:
- Summary of comment letters received for the Fair Value Option for Financial Liabilities and Amortised Cost and Impairment exposure drafts.
