At this meeting, and in a joint video conference meeting with the FASB, the Board discussed the content and timing of the proposed discussion paper on lease accounting. The boards decided to include in the discussion paper a high level discussion of lessor accounting issues. The boards plan to publish the discussion paper in March 2009.

The IASB also tentatively decided not to exclude from the scope of the project contracts that are ‘in-substance purchases’.
