On 18 February the IASB met in public session from 11:00am-12:45pm (London time) to discuss the Conceptual Framework project. Shortly after the session started the technology staff were informed of a fault with telecommunication services provided by a third party supplier that meant the session was not available to be viewed from the internet. Once the problem became apparent, technology staff put in place a fall-back plan and an audio-only stream was made available for the afternoon sessions. However, an unrelated and simultaneous failure with the backup system meant that the morning session was not recorded.
This is the first time since the IASB began webcasting its meetings that the recording of a meeting has not been available to post on the website. We apologise for the inconvenience caused and have taken the following steps to rectify the situation;
- Although no decisions were made during the session, because it was an initial discussion of the preliminary draft of the Conceptual Framework discussion paper, senior technical staff have recorded a podcast summarising the discussions that took place during the meeting. The podcast has been added to the related documents section of this page.
- Meeting summaries, compiled by IFRS Monitor technical reporters and by Deloitte IASPlus observers, have been added to the related documents section of this page.
- As a matter of urgency, the technology staff are conducting a review of the resilience of services provided by third parties as well as the backup arrangements maintained directly by the IFRS Foundation.
Once again, we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
