Thomas Blöink is Head of Accounting Law and Auditing Section at the Federal Ministry of Justice of Germany.
He is one of the developed economies’ representatives of the International Organization of Securities Commissioners (IOSCO) on the IFRS Advisory Council. IOSCO is the acknowledged international body that brings together the world’s securities regulators and is recognised as the global standard-setter for the securities sector. He is a member of Standing Committee 1 of IOSCO.
He is also a member of the Accounting Regulatory Committee (ARC) and the Auditing Regulatory Committee (AuRC) of the EU Commission.
He was previously Head of Unit at the Permanent Representation of Germany with the European Union in Brussels, and held other positions at the Federal Ministry of Justice after having been a lawyer with the US law firm Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering in London.
