Patrick Parent, IFRS Advisory CouncilTerm expires: December 2014

Patrick Parent is Executive Director Corporate Accounting and Audit of the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF), the French securities regulator.
Mr Parent chairs the European Securities Markets Authority’s (ESMA) group of accounting enforcers called the European Enforcers Coordination Sessions (EECS). He is also a member of the International Organization of Securities Commissioners’ (IOSCO) Standing Committee responsible for Corporate Accounting and Audit.

He is one of the developed economies’ representatives of IOSCO on the IFRS Advisory Council.  IOSCO is the acknowledged international body that brings together the world’s securities regulators and is recognised as the global standard-setter for the securities’ sector.

He is a member of the board of the French accounting standard-setter (ANC) as well as of French audit oversight board.

He has also served as a representative for IOSCO as an observer at the IFRS Interpretations Committee (formerly IFRIC) of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB), and represented the international securities regulators at the XBRL Advisory Council.

He was previously a senior manager at Ernst & Young and Arthur Andersen.

He holds an MBA in Corporate Finance.
