John Hitchins is PwC’s Global Chief Accountant.
He represents PwC International, one of the leading international professional services networks, providing industry-focused assurance, tax and advisory services, on the IFRS Advisory Council.
John Hitchins joined PwC in 1976 and became a partner in 1988. Before taking up this role he specialised in bank auditing and advisory services throughout his career and continues to work with banking clients. He has also led a number of investigations for banking regulators and was the firm’s banking industry leader from 2001 until 2010.
For the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, he has served as the chairman of the Banking Committee, as a Board Member of the Financial Services Faculty and as a member of the Business Law Committee. He is a regular speaker on accounting developments and bank auditing and regulatory matters.
